Kulturni centar Azerbejdžana u Srbiji uz podršku Ambasade Republike Azerbejdžan organizovao je u Institutu za međunarodnu politiku i privredu „Okrugli sto“ na temu “Multikulturalizam: iskustvo Azerbejdžana” i prezentaciju knjige na azerbejdžanskom i srpskom jeziku profesora Zarife Alizade i doktora filoloških nauka Lale Madžidove „Znamenite žene azerbejdžanskog/srpskog naroda“.
U Okruglm stolu o multikulturalizmu učestvovali su ličnosti iz javnog, političkog, naučnog i kulturnog života Srbije. Tu su bili članovi Udruženja književnika Srbije, predstavnici diplomatskog kora, članovi Srpsko-azerbejdžanske privredne komore, Društva srpsko-azerbejdžanskog prijateljstva, studenti iz Azerbejdžana i Srbije.
Direktor Kulturnog centra Azerbejdžana u Srbiji Zarifa Alizade, zahvalivši gostima na velikom interesovanju za događaj, podvukla je važnost ovakvih naučnih i kulturnih manifestacija radi međusobnog upoznavanja srpskog i azerbejdžanskog naroda i njihovog daljeg zbližavanja. Na okruglom stolu “Multkulturalizam: iskustvo Azerbejdžana” govornici su istakli da u svetlu porasta izazova za međunarodni mir i bezbednost, kao što su nacionalni, religiozni i drugi oblici ekstremizma, terorizam, separatizam, migracije i dr. pitanja promocije ideja i vrednosti tolerancije, multikulturalizma i međusobnog poštovanja dobijaju posebnu aktuelnost. U tom kontekstu, u svojstvu pozitivnog iskustva, oni su razmotrili viševekovni model multikulturalizma u Azerbejdžanu, zemlji koja se nalazi na raskrsnici različitih kultura.
Izlagači su takođe obavestili prisutne o važnom doprinosu Azerbejdžana međunarodnim naporima za podsticanje multikulturalizma u svetu, o ukazu Predsednika Republike Azerbejdžan Ilhama Alijeva o proglašavanju 2016.godine Godinom multikulturalizma u Azerbejdžanu i o međunarodnim manifestacijama koja se u toj sferi održavaju u Bakuu.
Posle okruglog stola održana je prezentacija knjige “Znamenite žene azerbejdžanskog / srpskog naroda”. Direktor Kulturnog centra Azerbejdžana u Srbiji, profesor Akademije umetnosti u Novom Sadu Zarifa Alizade, spisateljica Jasmina Mihajlović, pesnikinja Milica Jeftimijević-Lilić,i profesor Feti Dautović u svojim izlaganjima istakli su značaj knjige za upoznavanje sa ženama koje su odigrale važnu ulogu javnom, političkom, naučnom i kulturnom životu Azerbejdžana i Srbije.
